Too Hot To Handle

I hope where all of you live is not like this. It's about mid-90's and nearly 100% humidity. Ms. Alpha just took me out for pee relief and simply walking around the block for 10 minutes had my tongue lolling out my mouth.

How on earth is a border collie supposed to train, exercise and work off all that excess energy?

Ms. Alpha has been consistently good to me on that score. We are usually up and out of the house at 7 am when it's marginally bearable heatwise. We go to the schoolyard field which is a block from my 3 floor den and she kicks and tosses my little soccer ball that I love so mightily. Lately, she's been bringing a bottle of icy water and my softie bowl. She kicks, I run, I leap & catch, and then bring the ball back. Then it's slurp, slurp, slurp. More kicks, more catches, over and over until it's deemed I've "had enough". I never really think I do, but I've stopped fighting at her on that score.

I am pretty much in love with this ball and if I see it, I am frantic to get to it. I will never run away from Ms. Alpha as long as she has this Magic Ball. I would like to take it to bed with me but it's in my outdoor toy basket.

Since it's a slow day and there's not much to report on, I thought I'd post this little video of me when I was a mere 10 week old strapling. A little explanation: this is the first time I was given a Greenie, and I wasn't sure if I should play with it or eat it.
