Dancing With the Dogs

Seriously. I've got a great concept for a new TV show that will sweep American Idol. It's Dancing With the Stars meets canines.

Let's call it Dancin' with the Dogs. Or, as it's called in competition, Freestyle.

Yes, there is really a canine competition in dog dancing. And, if you check your local dog training club, you will probably find classes where you and you humans learn to get it on like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

Naturally, border collies dominate the sport. I'm not surprised 'cause we're ready and able to spend countless hours learning tricks, putting together routines and moving around. We just treat it like a job. And the perks are FANTASTIC. Treats rain from the sky and we're showered with praise while we spend time learining to walk like bipeds and prance like show ponies.

Frankly, I think it's a little weird. But Ms. Alpha watched this video from the esteemed Crufts Dog Show that is taking place through Sunday over in England. This show is such a big deal—my mama was even invited this year, but didn't go. Too much traveling.

Anyway, my human mama watched this video and was enchanted. Her mouth was agape and I could see a light bulb go off over her head.

Uh oh.
