The Country Squire

Imagine my surprise a week ago! The Alphas surprised me with a trip to Martha's Vineyard and all I had to do was park my furriness on the back seat of my Den on Wheels while they drove almost 9 hours. (this is why I have not been in touch lately with my dear doggie friends!)

The Alpha's first order of business was to see that everything that Makes Fenway Happy was packed up: my Everlasting Fun Ball aka Green Ball, my competition standard frisbee, special Wellness Super 5 kibble, Omega-3 Fish Oil capsules, Vitamin E capsules, tennis ball play bone, soft bxw stuffie bone, agility equipment (more on that later), special leashes, collars and of course a supply of my favorite dessicated liver treats.

Oh, and don't forget the digital and video cameras so that all my most important moments are recorded so they can be treasured at a later date. I even have my own suitcase! There was scarcely room for The Alpha's stuff, but they managed to cram in whatever silly things humans need.

When we got to Martha's Vineyard, I blossomed. The Inner Fenway came forth. When I am on my island, I no longer feel the need to suppress my true nature—I am Master of My Domain, Lord of the Manor and the King of the Castle. This is a place where I can run free and safe and there is sunshine, free time, fun & games and all manor of dog sports & activities. I am even welcomed in stores and on beaches!

The Alphas took notice of my new persona and promptly came up with a new name for me: The Squire.

It's all about attitude, my friends!

The Squire is at the top o' the heap....and Lord of All He Surveys!

These are my lands.
They include forests for roaming and grassy plains for sports.

The Squire is proud of his realm!

Here is one of my serfs (aka Ms. Alpha), constructing
weave poles for my amusement.

When she was finished with the agility stadium,
I ordered Ms. Alpha to till my fields and plant vegetables.

When Ms. Alpha is done hanging the laundry,
I have her toss me the Green Ball about 60 times.

The Squire needs to rest now and then.

So many activities for The Squire to choose from:
Green Ball, frisbee or agility jumps.

The Squire welcomes all who pass to his door—
and maybe some frisbee!

Squire Fenway likes to survey his fiefdom....

The Squire is proud of his agility course.
Nice work, Ms. Alpha!

The Squire strikes a noble pose at his beachfront,

Squire Fenway is Lord of the Waters!

The Squire beckons all his Doggie Bloggies to come to his lands!

Fenway,

That is great the way you have your Alphas so well trained to answer your every need. Packing your stuff, driving you all the way to the Vineyard and setting up your yard just the way you like it. Wow! Of course you look so noble, how could it be any other way?

Your friend,
Niamh

Hi, Fen!

You sure do look like the Border Collie King of Martha's Vineyard! Your Alphas need to move there! You seem to love it's wide spanses of grass and beaches! I bet Chaney and I would have fun there, too! How long do you get to stay this time?
Congrats on your Sox beating my Indians. My team is crap this year. Name an area and we s--k in it! I think I am going to become a Sox fan! :) Well, not quite, but it must be fun having a GOOD team! Well, at least we beat the Yanks twice and humiliated them in the process in their new stadium! :)
Wish Chaney luck on her Elite Chances! She is competing this weekend and we will get to visit the famous "Bridges of Madison County" on the way up!

Hey Squire-Fen-Man-Dude,

First off, you're nuts. Bananas and hearts are DELISH, with a capital DELISH.

I know how to make you eat your organs. Make certain to tell your humans this trick. Ready for it? Ready? Here it is:

Get a fuzzbutt sibling.

That's right. You heard me. Potential competition over feasts will have you begging for more livers and carrots. No joke.

And there you have it - Stanislaw's Guide to Feasting 101.
