Just An Ol' Country Boy At Heart

Hello My Fellow Dog Bloggers!

I've been up to my pretty tipped ears in activities and dog shows. First, there were back-to-back three day weekends where your's truly made some stunning appearances and won a few Best of Winners (see my B.O.W Wow Wow post). It was exciting and exhausting to be the center of attention all the time.

Then, at the end of July, I was entered into a 5-day show in Salem, VA. This was big-time...a real show in an arena with people cheering and dogs flown in from the West Coast. For the first time ever, I got to stay overnight with Reggie Moorehead, my handler, who I call The Master. He is awesome and for some reason I become transformed into a show dog. I walk right, stand right, look right and move right. There's no thought of even lunging at the thousand other dogs around me to get up a good game of chase or bitey face. I let the judge put her hands all over me...and I mean ALL OVER. (they get really up close and personal with my parts!)

After the show was over and I was awarded my FIRST MAJOR WIN with 3 more points, I was whisked off for a much deserved vacation. Yes, I get the whole rest of the summer off! I'm now on Martha's Vineyard and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Bo Bama, The First Dog!

I can't wait to tell him how good life is up here. Morning jogs, followed by frisbee sessions and then some swimming—it's an endless round of fun and we dogs are really safe here. Why, we're even invited into some very chi-chi shops, 'cause up here Dogz Rule!

I even have my own butcher!!! Can you believe it? Ms. Alpha went to a Beef Store (aka Doggie Heaven) and bought some righteous steaks and ribs. She asked about trimmings for me and the butcher—who I now worship—gave her a big Bag O' Meat!!!

I just know they won't let me eat it all at once....but I could!

Mr. Butcher Angel is a lovely Brazilian man and he knows his steers inside and out. He told Ms. A., "No charge and I hope your dog really enjoys it." Can you believe it? When I saw the Bag O' Meat my head nearly exploded and my eyes rolled back into my head. I can't wait to tell Bo, "The First Dog" Obama all about this joint!

Today was the second best day of vacation (the bestest day was The Meat!). Here's some of what I did....
